Steel fabrication is what we do
A container conversion is mostly steel work: cutting openings, framing them so the container stays strong, welding, sealing, insulating and lining. That is the same work we do on truck bodies every day in our Keysborough workshop, so we can build your container conversion properly and at a fair price.
What we can build
- Container homes, granny flats and studios built to your designer's and engineer's plans.
- Site offices, lunch rooms and change rooms for builders, councils and events.
- Workshops, storage and tool containers with roller doors, shelving and lighting.
- Pop-up shops, food and coffee containers, and market stalls.

What goes into a conversion
- Openings are cut for doors and windows, and each one is framed in steel to keep the container strong.
- Walls, ceiling and floor are framed, insulated and lined, so the container stays comfortable.
- Doors, windows, flooring and fittings are installed to your plans.
- Rust is treated and the exterior is sealed and painted.
- Plumbing and electrical work is done and certified by licensed trades, which we can coordinate.
Permits and planning
If your container will be used as a home or a building, it will usually need a building permit, and some councils also need a planning permit. We build to approved plans, and we are happy to work with your building surveyor, designer and engineer from the start. Tell us what you have in mind, and we will tell you what is involved and give you a quote.
Common questions
Does a container home need a building permit?
In Victoria, a container that will be lived in or used as a building on a property usually needs a building permit, and it must meet the building and energy rules like any other building. We work with your building surveyor, designer and engineer, and we build the container to their approved plans.
Can you deliver the finished container?
We can arrange transport to your site with a crane truck or tilt tray. Your site needs to be ready, with access and footings in place, before the container arrives.
Do you also build site offices and storage containers?
Yes. Site offices, lunch rooms, workshops, studios and secure storage are simpler conversions and are often quicker to build than a home.
