A tray suits a wide range of work
A tray is the most versatile body you can put on a truck or ute. It suits building materials, landscaping supplies, machinery, steel, timber and trade equipment, and it can be loaded by forklift, crane or by hand from any side. We build each tray to suit the job it will be doing rather than picking one out of a catalogue.
The trays and fittings we build
- Flat trays are the best fit for loads that need to be reached from every side.
- Dropside trays have hinged sides that fold down when you are loading.
- Trays with high load gates are built for bulky or loose loads.
- Toolboxes can go under or over the tray, along with ladder racks, headboards and cab guards.
- Rope rails, tie-down points and load restraint fittings are added to suit what you carry.
- We build in aluminium when weight matters most and in steel when toughness matters more, depending on your payload.

Ute trays and service bodies
For trades and field crews, we build aluminium ute trays with toolbox canopies, drawers and ladder racks, so your tools stay locked away but are still easy to reach when you need them.

Tray repairs
We also repair bent and cracked trays, replace decking and dropsides, and fix hinges, latches and toolboxes. You can find out more on our truck body repairs page.
Common questions
Should I choose an aluminium or a steel tray?
Aluminium is lighter, so you can carry more payload, and it does not rust, while steel stands up better to impact and is usually cheaper up front. Our guide to aluminium and steel truck bodies explains the trade-offs.
Do you build ute trays and canopies?
Yes, we build aluminium ute trays with toolboxes, canopies, ladder racks and headboards to suit most of the popular utes.
What is the difference between a flat tray and a dropside tray?
A flat tray has no sides, so it is easy to load from any angle, whereas a dropside tray has hinged sides that fold down for loading and lock up to hold the load in place. Our tray body guide covers both, plus tilt trays.
