Built for the product you carry
The right refrigerated body depends on what you carry and how you deliver it. A freezer body for ice cream needs thicker insulation than a chiller body for fresh produce, and a multi-drop route with dozens of door openings a day needs different doors, curtains and floors from a truck doing a single long run. We start by asking about your product, your temperatures and your delivery pattern, and then we specify the body around them.
What goes into our refrigerated bodies
- The walls are insulated sandwich panels with a polyurethane foam core, and the thickness is chosen for chilled or frozen work.
- Inside, the linings are smooth and hygienic, so the body is easy to wash down.
- The floors are hard-wearing and sealed, so they drain properly and keep water out of the panels.
- Rear and side doors are fitted with good seals and heavy-duty hinges and locks.
- Strip curtains, internal racking, meat rails, load restraint and bulkheads for separate zones can be added to suit your loads.
- We build for van conversions and light trucks right through to larger rigid trucks.

Keeping the cold chain intact
In our workshop, many of the temperature problems we see come from the body rather than the unit, usually from worn door seals, damaged panels or water getting into the floor. We design our bodies so they are easy to inspect and repair, and our guide to monthly refrigerated body checks shows what to look at between services.
Repairs and refurbishment
If your existing body is damaged or losing temperature, a repair or a re-line may be all it needs. We repair insulated panels, linings, floors, doors and seals on all makes, and you can read more on our refrigerated truck body repairs page.
Common questions
Can you build a body with more than one temperature zone?
Yes, we can build multi-temperature bodies with an insulated bulkhead, so chilled and frozen product can travel in the same truck. The refrigeration unit needs to suit the layout, and we work with your refrigeration supplier to get that right.
Do you supply the refrigeration unit?
No. We build the insulated body and the fit-out, and we coordinate with a refrigeration technician for the refrigeration unit, so that the body and the unit are properly matched.
Do you repair refrigerated bodies too?
Yes, refrigerated body repairs make up a large part of our work, including panels, linings, floors and door seals. There is more detail on our refrigerated truck body repairs page.
